Gougane Barra, Co. Cork, Ireland |
In April 2002, a bunch of hikers from Bord Gáis (the Irish Gas Company) were doing a hike of the horseshoe around Gougane Barra in Co. Cork. They very kindly allowed me to tag along. This is a fairly picturesque spot, famed as the source of the river Lee which runs through Cork City, and as the hermitage of St. Finbarr, the patron saint of Cork (indeed, legend has it that he founded Cork city in the eighth century.)
I borrowed a digital camera from work, but alas only an 8MB flashcard, so there were 12 photos all told, of which only 7 or 8 were any good (I am new to this photography business.) Ah well, better than nothing...
