Since I was well ahead of schedule, I decided to stay an extra day in León to do some sightseeing and rest my knackered legs. Took it nice and easy: had numerous coffees, tónicas, beers, and wines. Visited the S. XIII Gothic-looking Cathedral, very impressive.

Bought El Pais to see what was going on in the world. Gave up attempting to translate and bought a copy of the Guardian, which I devoured over a lunch which I can only describe as being the best value I've ever had. E10 got a three-course lunch in a very fancy restaurant. The starter alone (Embutido de la tierra) was worth it, and the main course -- Congrio en salsa mariscada -- was superb. Yum Yum Pig's Bum, as we say here in Cork.
Later that day, I met Dave from Toronto, whom I last saw in Pamplona waiting for a pharmacy to open! We had dinner and beers together: I had goat, which was very tasty.
Recovered well, enjoyed myself doing nada today. Must do this more often!
Will try to get underway tomorrow at 7AM -- it would be good to reach Hospital de Orbigo, some 30-odd km away.
