smayer97 19 Aug 2011, 20:18 | Problems with Finder Label Colours I used this so much in OS 9 and earlier. Was sad when it was not available for OS X for SOOOO LONG!! Had to figure so many other workarounds. I was thrilled when it finally showed up for OS X!!!! Took me a while to re-integrate myself as I picked up so many poor habits without it. Now I'm so glad I returned to better habits with FinderPop. A couple of small problems exist. 1. finder label colours do not show up consistently in the menus and sub-menus when clicking on Menu bar. Label colours do not show up at all when clicking on finder items directly. 2. some utils complain about it: Drive Genius 3.x, BTT (BetterTouchTool) used for Magic Mouse and Touch Pad (see new forum topic created) 3. Would be nice if it worked with SecondBar or the like. (see new Forum Topic created) I'm on 27" iMac 2.93Ghz i7 Quad with OS X.6.7 using FP 2.3.0 |
turly 22 Aug 2011, 11:10 | Re: Problems with Finder Label Colours Can you try FinderPop 2.3.9.3 beta instead of 2.3.0 ? I've fixed quite a few bugs since 2.3.0. --turly |

smayer97 18 Oct 2011, 21:07 | Re: Problems with Finder Label Colours I figured out some of the issues re: Finder Label Colours 1. FP places an extra space in front of the file name when displaying names with Finder Labels. Does not affect sorting, only display in the FP menu (see other forum posts regarding this here:) a) viewtopic.php?f=3&t=208#p904 b) viewtopic.php?f=2&t=193 2. FP formats items with Finder Label Colours differently when clicking blank space in Menu bar vs clicking desktop item a) colour is muted/faded b) colour does not extend to the full width of the menu c) colour does not have rounded edges...maybe part of the solution is extending the colour label highlighting around the icon too, like the Finder does? |
