G-Montseny 11 Mar 2009, 15:53 | Items on Finder sidebar & Open submenu Hi, Turly! Isn't it quite in here! Well, the thing is that the -minor- problem I reported some weeks ago keeps on reappearing: namely, that, for no apparent reason, the "Open" submenu doesn't work when I click on a Finder sidebar item (remember, though, that the items open when I select the "contents" submenu with the name of the item in question). On the other hand, and as was commented in the old forum, the problem disappears if I set "Remember the last menu items chosen" to 0 (and it works for some time if I set it later to any other value). I'm sorry, but I'm not able to reproduce it at will: It just happens... G* |

turly 15 Mar 2009, 23:02 | Re: Items on Finder sidebar & Open submenu To get back to you on this again, you talk about "the Open submenu doesn't work" .. are you talking about the Open menu item, or the Open With... submenu? [Edit:] And are you using the Recent Items "in a submenu", or "inlined"? |
G-Montseny 18 Mar 2009, 11:19 | Re: Items on Finder sidebar & Open submenu
Turly, I mean this: When you right-click on an item located in the sidebar of a finder widow, you get a contextual menu with several options; One of them is just "Open", and this is the one that *sometimes* doesn't work, etc., etc. (the "Contents" menu for that same item in the sidebar, which is activated in the Prefs panel, *always* works in the sense that, when you just click on it, it opens the item in question, just as the "Open" item should do). Sorry, but I don't understand clearly the "Recent Items" question... So, I'll tell you my Prefs panel options: - Appearance Tab: "Use Custom Icons in...", ON; "Use same filenames as...", ON; all other options OFF. - Options Tab: ALL options ON, EXCEPT "Add 'processes' submenu". Popup delay: Rather fast; "Remember the last X items... in a submenu", ON. - Active Tab: "FinderPop active in all apps" ON; "Enhance other apps...", OFF. No apps prevented from being patched. Hope this can help. As always, if can help you in any other way, just ask! And let me add that, at least for me, that little "quirk" is not THAT important... |
