I have discovered that while Finder Pop will not work with any Apple apps, I can use it successfully with Path Finder in the foreground. In fact, several non-Apple programs continue to allow me access to the Finder Pop popup in the menu bar, which is my primary need/use. I realize this probably isn't groundbreaking news, but for me, it has allowed to continue using Finder Pop with El Capitan.
