FP working on Sierra (sort of)
I have a 2011 iMac that was running MacOS 10.10 Yosemite because I didn't want to upgrade to 10.11 El Capitan and lose FP functionality (yes, I am THAT loyal/lazy). But I recently bit the bullet and upgraded directly to 10.12 Sierra (skipping 10.11 El Capitan). To my great surprise, FP still works as before. The only problem is that the FP preference pane is greyed-out, so I can't make system changes (although I can still change my FP items using the FP drop-down menu. Of course, when I tried to install FP on a 2015 MacBook Pro Retina that was upgraded from 10.11 El Capitan to 10.12 Sierra, the installer wouldn't allow me to install FP (that computer did NOT have FP installed already).

I've attached a screen shot showing that my iMac is on 10.12 Sierra, FP 2.5.7 is running, and the FP preference pane is disabled.

Is there a way to re-enable the preference panel?

Hmm, not sure what kind of state that system is in after an in-place upgrade with older FP running.
You could uninstall it (Preference Panel -> Right-click FinderPop icon -> "Uninstall") and install the 2.5.9 version following these instructions.
Your preferences and your FinderPop Items folder will not be changed.
