Raimondi 14 Mar 2009, 22:38 | New file templates Hi there, Thanks for this powerful tool, when I left MacOS 9 behind, one of the things I missed the most was FP, I'm grateful that you brought it back to us. I have a small request, if I remember correctly, the MacOS 9 version had a "new file" feature, with it you could create new files using the empty or pre-filled files placed inside one of the FP folders. Cheers, Israel |
turly 15 Mar 2009, 20:41 | Re: New file templates Classic FP had a feature where you could set the file type/creator based on sample files you put into (a folder within) the FinderPop Items folder. I don't think it had anything like you describe, unless you're talking about putting stationery files into the FP Items folder? You might still be able to do that, but I'm not sure that it will behave as you expect... (and I'm not at my Mac to find out, sorry... will have a look during the week.) |
Raimondi 15 Mar 2009, 21:20 | Re: New file templates What you mention sound more familiar to me than what I wrote and it was useful. I think I mixing my expectations with my memories Then, my wish would be to have a "New file" menu item that pulls it content from a folder with actual files that could be empty or pre-filled, the selected file would be copied to the clicked path. Something like the inverse of copying files with FP. Cheers, Israel |

Slightly off on a tangent, but, why, oh why has Apple made it so bloody difficult to manipulate file creator/type? It used to be so easy with AppleScript (before I discovered FP) back in the day... |

Well, soon you will have no reason anymore to manipulate type and creator codes. Starting with Snow Leopard, type and creator are ignored. |
