Eric 30 Mar 2010, 20:58 | FP working on SL 10.6.3? Anyone else having problems with FP on 10.6.3? Not loading at startup and if I reinstall FP it still doesn't run. Have deleted prefs and reinstalled/restarted Finder etc but no joy. Anyone else with this experience? Any suggestions? cheers |
turly 31 Mar 2010, 13:48 | Re: FP working on SL 10.6.3? @Eric - does Console.app say anything? Normally FinderPop will print a message when it's installed and each time it patches an app. Unfortunately I'm in Cork at the moment and away from my Mac until next week, so I have no idea whether it works on 10.6.3 or not. It should do, but I can't say for certain. If anyone has it working on 10.6.3, feel free to chime in! |
Eric 31 Mar 2010, 22:48 | Re: FP working on SL 10.6.3? Hey Turley thanks for yours. Yes, managed to get working on 10.6.3 but it took a while - repeated installs and restarting the Finder. I think I have narrowed down the cause - does FP store anything in a cache file somewhere? I used MainMenu 2 to clear system and user caches before the install and I think that was the reason for the problems, because after i managed to get FP running on 10.6.3, I cleared cahce files and the problem returned. Hence my query - if FP stores info in a cache file, then clearing the cache file may cause FP to not load/work? all best, Eric |
turly 01 Apr 2010, 09:43 | Re: FP working on SL 10.6.3? No, FP doesn't use any extra files over those in the FinderPop Items folder or the com.finderpop.finderpop plist file in your Preferences folder. Odd. |
mrpwick 03 Apr 2010, 21:13 | Re: FP working on SL 10.6.3? As far as I can tell, FP works fine for me in SL 10.6.3. No problems (so far!)http://www.fnarr.net/fp/posting.php?mode=reply&f=2&t=73# |
pyffi 04 Apr 2010, 13:51 | Re: FP working on SL 10.6.3? Apart from the (older) Finder selection problem discussed under that topic, FP appears to work fine on SL 10.6.3. |

And see my latest reply there: do you have 'Services -> Folder Actions Setup' enabled? System Preferences -> Keyboard Shortcuts -> Services -> Files & Folders -> (ensure "Folder Actions Setup..." is checked.) FP uses info provided by the Finder and the Services mechanism to figure out exactly what it was you clicked on. |
