In my OS, the FinderPop.osax-File is named "FinderPopOsax.osax". Therefore, the terminal command must be sudo chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/ScriptingAdditions/FinderPopOsax.osax Salamacs hint work with FP 2.5.9-Beta, too. Regards Blaubeere |

Hi turly, I've play around the problem, but get no solution * Deinstalling FP and fresh reinstall. No menulet. * Disabling SIP, restart, fresh install of FP 2.5.9-Beta. FP itself works, but the menulet don't appear. * Enabling SIP, restart. No menulet. The option "Use menulet to invoke FinderPop" get disabled every time I close the prefPanes window with both: SIP disabled and SIP enabled. EDIT: I've now tried the hint from member Salamac in his post "Yes, FP works in El Capitan with SIP!" in the FP Support Forum (viewtopic.php?f=2&t=350). Yes, FP 2.5.9-Beta works with SIP. But without menulet - same behavior as before. Regards Blaubeere |

No, it wasn't a completely fresh install of FP. I had install FP 2.5.9-Beta over the existing version 2.5.7, which was disabled since upgrade of El Capitan. Today I've uninstall FP how described ("Uninstall FinderPop" in the prefPane and follows the instructions) and re-install FP 2.5.9-Beta as admin-user for "All Users". But it take no effects: I get not the menulet in the menubar. I open the FinderPop prefPane (FinderPop is "On"), go to "Options", enable "Use menulet to invoke FinderPop" and close the prefPane's window, but there is no menulet in the menubar. If I re-open Finderpop prefPane, the Option "Use menulet to invoke FinderPop" is disabled again! Switching FP off and on don't change this behavior. I wish you a happy new year! Regards Blaubeere |
Blaubeere 30 Dec 2015, 17:46 | FinderPop 2.5.9-BETA - no menulet in 10.11.2
Hi turly, I've use FinderPop for many years (since Mac OS 7.5 or 8) an I love it. I don't want to live without it. Recently I upgraded from Yosemite to El Capitan (10.11.2). SIP is enabled and I don't want disabling it. Today, I've install FinderPop 2.5.9-Beta to try the menulet. But I can't see the menulet in the menubar, though I've enable it in the "Options" tab of the FP prefpane. Rebooting my iMac or switching FP on and off takes no effect. What's wrong? I've understand your explanations, that the menulet should work with SIP is enabled. It seems, that something blocks the menulet. Regards Blaubeere |
